Physical and chemical fundamentals, as well as processes involved in the development of the selective noncatalytic reduction (SNCR) technology and its prospects for thermal power plants in Russia are discussed based on the experience gained in the development and introduction of installations using this technology at the Togliatti cogeneration plant.
