A circuit is presented which was designed to transmit an analog voltage in the range minus 6 to plus 6v over a distance of several hundred meters, so that the speed of a motor could be controlled remotely. Based on a pair of 741 op amps, and interconnected by a twisted pair, essentially it comprises a voltage follower linked directly to the central contropanel and differential amplifier situated at the motor. The performance of the circuit by no means matches that of commercially available isolation amplifiers, but neither does the price. At about 1/100th of the cost, it provides a cheap and easy method of sending a control voltage over long distances.
