Temperature dependence of electrical conductivity of ion-selective polymeric membranes

Experimental plots of the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity of ion-selective membranes of the heterogeneous type (MK-40, MK-44, MA-40, MA-41, and MA-41I) in solutions of sodium chloride have been obtained. It has been established that the electrical conductivity of the membranes increases exponentially with the increasing temperature and is satisfactorily described by the Arrhenius equation. The activation energies for electrical conduction in the membranes have been calculated. Empirical formulas reflecting the dependencies investigated have been obtained.
