摘要
Coal has come to be recognized as a major energy resource for the nation's future needs, but much of the attention devoted to its use has been directed toward the so-called second-generation technologies, such as fluidized bed combustion, coal liquefaction and coal gasification. However, significant improvements in heat rate and economics of the conventional pulverized coal fired cycle are attainable, offering the considerable advantage over second-generation technologies of employing a proved design with predictable costs. In addition, high reliability may be expected under all operating constraints, including cyclic operation and rapid load change rates with high turndown capability.
