摘要
A multiple access system for a packet-switching network employing satellite links is described. The system originated within an ESA (European Space Agency) project titled ″Study of a European Packet-Switching Network with Satellite Links″ . The system combines packet-switching exchanges and a satellite communications system into a packet-switching network. Particular effort was devoted to utilizing the distinctive features of packet-switching and of satellite communications to achieve a possibly cost effective system without impairing the overall system performance.
