The State Gallery in Stuttgart is an architecturally outstanding, yet functional building complex containing an art gallery, a small theatre, an academy of music, a library and a restaurant. The variety of uses to which the building is put and its striking architecture demanded flexible electrical installations which could be easily adapted to changing requirements. The author describes some of the more interesting of these, such as the lighting system chosen for the gallery complex.
