Approach for the laboratory investigation of coarse coal dewatering by centrifugation

The moisture content of the coal from such a centrifuge can exhibit substantial variability; which makes quality control difficult. A large scale investigation; sponsored by the Australian Coal Association Research Program (ACARP) and Australian coal producers; through AMIRA; has recently been undertaken to identify the causes of this variability; The work was carried out jointly by the Coal and Energy Division of CSIRO and the Department of Chemical Engineering at The University of Queensland.
