摘要
The metabolism and biosynthesis of nucleotides have been studied in mycobacteria in the review. The regulation of nucleotides by calmodulin has also been focussed on. One of the pyrimidine biosynthetic pathway enzymes, aspartate transcarbamylase has been purified to homogeneity, characterized and its kinetic properties investigated. On the basis of kinetic data, aspartate transcarbamylase of M. smegmatis was found to be the modulator-dependent co-operativity system of allosteric enzymes.
