Main Dimensions of Frame Components.

Beginning from the demand for frame rigidity being as high as possible following from the static fault behavior on simultaneous effort for observing small differences of main rigidities, plain model pictures are developed to obtain fundamental tendencies of dimensional influences to the relations between volume and rigidity without the aid of the finite-element-method. As an example, the author dealt with the problem of selection of design dependent on the size as well as with the influence of lay-out and dimensioning of guidances at single and double-column horizontal boring and milling machines.
