ANALYSIS OF RECTANGULAR GRILLAGES.

Static analysis of plane elastic beam grillages in which the beams intersect each other at right angles. The method is exact within the limitations of small deflection theory using the Bernoulli-Euler theory of flexure and St. Venant's theory of torsion. The only restrictions are that the beam must be prismatic from one node to the next and the external loads and reactions must be forces perpendicular to the grillage or couples parallel to the beams (or both) applied only at the nodes. It is particularly suited to the analysis and design of regular two-way concrete joist floors.
