End carbon control for EAF steelmaking

摘要
The reaction between carbon and oxygen in molten steel during EAF (electric arc furnace) steelmaking was studied experimentally and the relation between carbon and oxygen was described. Under the experimental conditions, [O]=0.0032[C]-0.9441 and equilibrium point for selective oxidation of [C] and [Fe] is [C]=0.035%. The end carbon should be higher than 0.04% for low carbon steel melting.
