摘要
The use of synchronous machines with two-axis excitation has been suggested as a possible economical means of improving power system stability. It has been proved that these machines when properly controlled do not only have superior dynamic and transient stability margins but also have better voltage regulation characteristics compared with conventional synchronous machines. This is achieved mainly due to the great flexibility offered by the machine excitation control loops, in addition to its inherent better transient stability characteristics. Many investigators have thrown more light on various aspects of the dynamic behavior of these machines but all studies deal with the case of a single machine to an infinite bus case. A more challenging and interesting problem is the study of the dynamical behavior of such machines when operating in parallel with other two-axis or conventional synchronous machines in a large interconnected power network. Modeling and simulation of such a power network for transient stability studies is quite involved and its development is the main objective of this paper.
