According to the requirements of a mixing duty an appropriate mixer can be selected by its Froude Number and the mixers can be classified in respective categories. Some mixer designs allow a considerable change of Froude numbers, thus operating in different categories. A new method of on-line measuring of ingredients concentration after continuous mixing is presented. It allows very relevant conclusions on the mixing operation to be made. To select a mixer and the operation parameters the accuracy of the ingredients' feeding into the mixer has to be considered. For this reason, the Gericke Company provides different gravimetric feeding and continuous mixing equipment in their test lab.
