DAMPING OF KARMAN-VORTEX-INDUCED VIBRATIONS BY AXIAL FLOW.

摘要
A theory is established for the decay of the Karman vortex shed by the yawed circular cylinder. Experimental data are used for evaluation of this theory. It was also shown that the effect of helical fins on the decay depends largely on the shape of the grooves formed by the fins. The rectangular groove is the most advantageous owing to its capability of generating effective axial flow.
