SOME RESULTS ON GUIDELINES FOR TREATMENT OF TRAFFIC CONGESTION ON STREET NETWORKS.

摘要
The concepts of the guidelines, the recommended approach, and a frame work for addressing a particular problem are outlined. The framework includes both preliminary identification of the cause of the problem and categories of the treatment available. A sequence of treatment classes is recommended. Proper signalization and provision of added space (bays, lanes, and the like) are of prime importance. Some of the important results or recommeded actions are presented in individual sections within the paper-shorter cycle length to avoid spillback, equity offsets to compensate when oversaturation occurs, and a number of nonsignal considerations. Some of the flow charts to aid in decision making are shown.
