摘要
A super-hard powder metallurgy tool steel designed to have properties between conventional high speed tools and cemented carbide is discussed. The fine-grain structure of the alloy provides toughness and wear resistance improves grindability, machinability, and response to heat treatment. The productivity, longer tool life, lower-cost production, and improved product uniformity are the other benefits of the super alloy. The alloy finds applications in hobs, punches, form tools, taps, end mills, milling, cutters, thread roll dies, indexable inserts, and broaches.
