Qualitative characteristics o f the eigenfrequency spectrum o f H mon natural oscillations in waveguide-dielectric resonators, formed by sections o f partially filled rectangular waveguides, have been investigated on the basis o f the rigorous statement and solution o f the spectral boundary-value problem. The conditions have been found for and their characteristic features have been described o f the regimes o f total absorption and mode conversion for the case o f a lossy dielectric filling. The theoretical results are justified through numerical analysis o f the spectral dependencies and fields o f natural oscillations in resonators with below cutoff and non below cutoff output arms. © 2001 Begell House, Inc.
