摘要
This article looks at the shortcomings of precast concrete-encased steel penstocks and investigates proposals for in situ concrete construction. Construction of in situ concrete-encased steel penstocks at pumped-storage stations can provide a noticeable intensification of construction and a reduction of labor intensity and cost of the structure. According to the data of the design of precast penstocks, the cost indices of the in situ penstocks are substantially smaller. These two variants should be thoroughly compared during design in order to select the optimal construction method.
