摘要：

Intelligence is defined. It is shown that there are two approaches for developing intelligent machines. The software approach is to use conventional computers with programs which make them act intelligently. The second approach attempts to create a brainlike machine through the use of so- called adaptive logic. This second approach is more fully explored.
