Medusa Corporation's Wampum plant is located on the Beaver River in Western Pennsylvania. Company officials realized that the conventional-type separator installed in closed circuit with the 5000-hp mill was inefficient and consumed excessive power. They installed a high efficiency separator, the Sepax IC355. Modifications to the dust collector were necessary because of an excessive pressure drop.
