摘要
It is recommended to weld low-carbon corrosion-resisting steels and alloys with high-alloy electrodes provided with special carbonate-free rutile coatings which efficiently prevent carburization in welding and insure consequently high resistance of the welding and insure consequently high resistance of the weld metal to intercrystalline and general corrosion. Introduction of strong deoxidizing agents into the coating does not give stable results with respect to carbon concentration. The formation of welded joints produced with rutile electrodes can be improved by including alumosilicates in the coatings which give (at the optimum content) favorable characteristics of the temperature dependence of slag viscosity. In addition to this, rutile electrodes result in a low degree of penetration of the parent metal. The high-alloy electrodes with coatings of various types for specific applications: developed by the Moscow Experimental Welding Plant are reviewed and their characteristics are tabulated.
