SELF-CONSISTENT BAND STRUCTURE AND THE FERMI SURFACE FOR alpha equals 2/3 IN THE RARE EARTH METAL EUROPIUM.

摘要
In order to make clear the relation between the shape of the Fermi surfaces and the helical spin ordering below the Neel temperature Tn equals 91K in bcc Eu Metal, a self-consistent energy band calculation is carried out with the exchange potential of alpha equals 2/3. In a previous paper, the results are reported of non-self-consistent band calculations for the same alpha -value ( alpha equals 2/3). Comparison between the previous non-self-consistent results and the present self-consistent results shows that the latter are undoubtedly superior to the former by the reason that the 4f-bands are included in the occupied conduction bands in the latter, but not in the former.
