Norwegian publication paper producer Norske Skog is joining forces with Brazilian producer Klabin to form a 50:50 newsprint joint venture. Klabin currently operates one paper machine with a capacity of 130,000 tpy at its Monte Alegre mill in Brazil. The deal is expected to be completed in February 2000 and represents Norske Skog's first foray into Latin American production.
