Wire wrapping is used extensively in the telecommunications industry for the termination of solid copper conductors. With the increasing use of aluminum conductors in the British Telecom local cable network, it has not proved possible to produce wire wrap terminations using the same techniques had equipment. This article describes the research carried out to perfect a system to wire wrap aluminum conductors.
