The 'Simple++' object-oriented simulation software is an efficient planning tool for the development of the infrastructure in the area of maintenance on DB Regio. The article discusses the utilization of this software to simulate workshop siting so as to optimize workshop location and dimensioning. The results of the simulation are an aid to decision-making that increases planning safely and minimizes investment risk.
