While the products and capabilities of Czechoslovakian glassmakers are respected around the world, until recently relatively little has been known of the industry's local equipment suppliers. The nation's transition towards a market economy is changing this situation, however, as Czech suppliers begin to compete for international business. One example is TOS Hostivar, which offers a range of hollow glass processing machinery. The present manufacturing programme includes universal plain and special cylindrical grinders. TOS Hostivar is now developing two additional versions of the equipment. The first is a modernised version of the machine exhibited at Glastec 90 and the second is suitable for use in automatic lines, being equipped with loading and unloading attachments. Both have a programming unit for complete machine control. Alongside these machines, TOS Hostivar is also starting production of other glass cutting machines in 1991.
