Using the method of acoustic emission (AE) the boundaries of stages of plastic deformation in the course of tension are investigated. Based on these investigations, the earlier conclusions on the stage character of deformation are confirmed. Specimens of steel 20, Cr18Ni9Ti, and copper M-1 were tested.
