The Danube Hydroelectric Power Plant Co (DWK) incorporating power stations with an output of 83 Mw has been set into operation in 1971. It is characterized by the possibility of rise operation. During the operating period of 10 years the theoretical energy generation with 500 Gwh/a has been always realized. The DWK takes part in the gross energy generation for electric traction with an average value of 8 per cent. It features reliable operation and contributes significantly to the independence of the energy supply for the railroad system.
