A scheme for the production of granulated ammonium-phosphate fertilizer (called ammophos) from wet-process H//3PO//4 is described. The main stages of the process include neutralization of the H//3PO//4 by liquid ammonia, drying the ammophos slurry in spray driers, granulation of the powdered ammophos, rolling the granules in a drum, drying the ammophos in a drum drier, classification of the product, cooling the ammophos in a fluidized-bed apparatus, weighing the product, and removing ammonia and fluorine from the waste gases.
