It is known that the operational properties of bonded joints depend on the method of preparing the surfaces for the adhesive application. This article gives an account of the results of research into the effect of the method of treating surfaces of steel VMSt3sp or VSt3sp and of alloys AMg on the strength of bonded joints. The bonding adhesives selected for the investigation were compositions on the basis of acrylate resins VAK-A (TU 88 USSR 193. 005-77), unsaturated polyesters 'Sprut-5M-3' (TU 88 USSR 193. 006-77) and 'Sprut - 9M' (TU 88 USSR 193. 025-79).
