Testing metallic materials at high temperatures

This article reports on the state of the art of high-temperature testing systems. All aspects of testing at high temperatures, e.g. test instruments and machines, load and extension measurement and the measurement and maintenance of test temperatures are covered. Part 2 deals with long-term maintenance of the test temperature, compatibility of creep rupture results from multiple samples and individual testing machines, tests conducted under special loading conditions and the relaxation test. The examples apply to steel and nickel alloys.
