1980 SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES - EPILOGUE.

Problems encountered and successes achieved during the transmission from the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow are considered. After discussing the program production facilities, the authors describe the technical installations provided in Moscow and the transmission circuits used in Europe, pointing out both the good and the bad points. The sections dealing with the organization and with the transmission statistics give an idea of the volume of work that had to be accomplished by the Operations Group and the E. B. U. Permanent Services. The conclusion gives an overall assessment and draws attention to certain points to be borne in mind when planning future operations of this nature.
