Two-layer catalytic system for hydrorefining of petroleum feedstock

Catalysts of new generation (the GP series) for hydrorefining of some types of petroleum feedstock (vacuum distillates of sulfurous or low-sulfurous oils, their mixtures with the gas oil of retarded coking) have been developed. The catalyst activity was estimated on the basis of the initial temperature in the reactor, at which a 90% (or 82% depending on the type of the feedstock) sulfur-removal is achieved. The catalysts of the GP series have been found to be active both as mono-layer and two-layer systems, the service life of the catalyst is over 2500 h. Some advantages for the two-layer system (consisting of two catalysts) are noted: lower temperatures of the process, deeper hydrogenation of heavy polyarenes.
