摘要
The Novo-Lipetsk Works has developed a practice combining the melting of high-grade low-ally steels with production of a standard semiproduct in the basic oxygen furnace, deoxidation and alloying in the ladle by means of molten ferroalloys using a lime-alumina synthetic slag, control of chemical composition within narrow limits, stabilization of the composition and temperature by treating with argon, micro-alloying, and inoculation with powdered reagents in the argon stream. The sulfur content of the 17G2AF steel was reduced to 0. 003-0. 008%. The mechanical properties of the finished metal (impact strength at minus 40 degree C) were stable.
