摘要
Two kinds of band structures were detected in the Ni-Mo-Al-V directionally-solidified eutectic alloys. One is called the 'blocky' band, with discrete a-Mo particles, and the other is the 'white' band, without the a-Mo fiber. Both bands seriously degrade the mechanical properties of the alloys. By using glow discharge emission spectroscopy, the chemical composition of band structures was analyzed layer by layer. Based on the compositional variation and the constitutional supercooling theory, the cause of band formation is discussed.
