摘要
The performance of both a single-phase and a three-phase induction motor are evaluated over a full range of output loads and under two modes of operation. The first mode provides the baseline performance for comparison purposes. In the second mode, the motors are controlled by commercial power factor controller units. The power factor controller is a device which reduces the consumed power of an induction motor at low loads by introducing periods of zero current, the length of which is proportional to the current phase lag.
