A successful program of transient testing of FBR (fast breeder reactor) fuel pins is presently underway in the HFR (high flux reactor) Petten utilizing two different experimental assembly devices. All desired test parameters have been easily achieved in tests to date on fresh fuel pins. This is a continuing program with plans underway for the irradiation of pre-irradiated fuel pins after completion of the EUROS cell which will allow for remote encapsulation of such pins.
