This article discusses a new accelerated aging test, the autoclave test. Its principles involve aging the sample in a trade laboratory glass autoclave similar to a bomb test, but under intensive stirring. The valuation of aging stability takes place by determination of potential gum and acid content. The method is shown to be suitable to discern between stable and unstable gasoline and to prove the efficiency of antioxidants. The results obtained by the autoclave test correspond to that of ASTM bomb test.
