A survey is made of typical designs of eccentrics or eccentric units cooperating with one another in various types of transmissions. The effect of the eccentric on selected parameters of a one-way clutch is discussed. An analysis is made of the change in the transmission ratio as a function of the angle of rotation of the active element in the toothed mechanism. The effect of the eccentric on the magnitude of the push-rod travel in a link mechanism is investigated. An analysis is made of the effect of the eccentric on the operational parameters of a mechanism with flexible links.
