摘要
The production of the required strip profile while maintaining good strip flatness is possible in hot strip mills through the employment of infinitely variable servo systems with wide adjustment ranges. The various requirements can be met with continuously variable crown (CVC) systems combined with work roll bending systems. The theoretical predictions regarding the adjustment ranges of these systems and their effects on the strip were confirmed in a pilot application involving stand F4 of the hot strip mill at the Beeckerwerth plant of Thyssen Stahl AG. This appeared to have no adverse effect on the quality of the product. As a result of these trials, it is now planned to fully equip the hot strip mill with CVC systems and work roll bending systems as the means for controlling strip profile and flatness.
