Ferrocyanide Electron-Ion Exchangers for the Sorption of Rubidium and Cesium.

A ferrocyanide of composition K//0//. //8//0Cs//0//. //7//0Ni//1//. //2//5Fe**I**I(CN)//6 is recommended for selective sorption of Cs** plus ions, while a ferrocyanide of composition K//1//. //0//4Rb//0//. //3//2Ni//1//. //3//2Fe**I**I(CN)//6 is recommended for combined sorption of Cs** plus and Rb** plus ions. Both ferrocyanides are capable of operating as electron-ion exchangers during repeated cycles of sorption, desorption and degeneration.
