摘要
The philosophy of just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing is often claimed to offer great benefits, but is still regarded with suspicion by small and medium sized fabricators who assume it is only applicable to major high volume producers. In this article, the author, an independent management consultant, gives his views on what JIT is, how it can be introduced and what results might be expected. In particular, he demonstrates that JIT has proportionately as much to offer smaller companies with low volumes and wide product ranges as it does the likes of Toyota, GM and IBM.
