Many electronic systems produce annoying levels of acoustic noise because of improper fan placement and insufficient noise suppression. The M64 Series Minisupercomputer employs absorptive mufflers and variable speed DC fans to provide adequate air flow at minimum sound levels. The DC fans are controlled by a thermal control system which monitors the inlet air temperature and air velocity and adjusts the voltage to the fans accordingly.
