Investigating the preparation of fuel for low-temperature vortex combustion

One means of solving the problem of improving combustion of low-grade fuels is to go over to burning coarsely pulverised fuel under conditions of repeated circulation of particles using a low-temperature vortex (LTV) method and a circulating fluidized bed. The authors investigated the feasibility of obtaining coarsely ground fuel in the fuel preparation systems of a TP-14/A boiler at Kumertau H.&P. Station when pulverizing brown Bashkirsk coals of high moisture content in an MV-1600/600/980 mill. The results of the investigations, carried out under conditions of gas and air drying, demonstrate conclusively the feasibility of using these mills to obtain coarse pulverized fuel.
