摘要
The hazards associated with electric arcs have been known for a long time. It did not take long for people experimenting with arcs to find out that they needed to protect their eyes and skin from heat and radiation. The paper discusses the role of the American Welding Society in the development and publication of safety and health information relating to welding and cutting. The periods of Post-World War I to World War II, and from WWII to the present are reviewed.
