摘要
Superconducting energy storage for electricity is unique among all the technologies used for adjusting the diurnal load in power networks. With this technology, electrical energy can be stored directly in a large superconducting magnet as a circulating current. It has the advantages of high efficiency and fast response to power demand. The paper gives the characteristics, historical and present status, and economic analysis of this technology. Examples of practical application are also presented.
