摘要
Ammonium tartrate (NH4)2 C4H4O6 single crystals were grown from solution by means of slow evaporation technique at room temperature. The dielectric constant ∈ and a.c conductivity σ of the grown crystal were studied as a function of frequency variation. The crystal was irradiated by heavy ions of silver Ag+13 of 120 MeV energy with a fluence rate of 5 × 1011 ions / cm2/sec using the 15 UD Pelletron accelerator at Nuclear Science Centre, New Delhi. Again the parameters ∈ and σ of the crystal were studied as a function of frequency variation. The results were compared. Also the change in the refractive index of the crystal after irradiation was studied. The possibility of preparing optical wave guides in these crystals is discussed.
