摘要：
Washington, DC's Wastewater Treatment Plant has been expanded to include two-state biological nitrification. A systematic approach was used to divide the start-up into several major task groups. The effort involved the planning and implementation of a comprehensive training system, and the inspection of equipment items. Changes in plant performance levels are reflected by changes in operating parameters such as nitrification rates and system stress.
