DePuy, an international orthopedic products manufacturer, has recently implemented bar coded shipping labels to satisfy customer requests, and then extended its systems to improve internal operations. To achieve the desired bar code labeling program, a dot matrix label printer was installed. As a result, the company is expecting an over all $100,000 savings annually once all facilities have been converted to the new system.
