摘要
India has indicated a preference for the Russian Aircraft-Building Corporation (RSK) MiG over Sukhoi as a partner in the possible production and development of a fifth-generation fighter. Russia will begin its supply to India with 16 MiG-29K carrier-based multirole fighter aircraft in 2007 and is expected to complete the order in 2009. Under the USD740 million contract, India will be able to buy another 30 MiG-29K aircraft with deliveries up to 2015. RSK would perform a flight test on the retrofitted aircraft early in 2006 to demonstrate its viability and targeting the possible replacement of the Indian Air Force's MiG-27ML and similar MiG-23MF/BN/UB aircraft.
